Jean-Michel Uyttersprot is a Belgian visual artist and engraver (born in 1962).
Trained in engraving in Braine-l’Alleud, he explores the boundaries of printmaking through etching, woodcut, and photowoodcut.
In 2015, he co-founded the
K1L editions in Jodoigne, where he publishes the magazine
Current, Contemporary Printmaking, a major editorial project dedicated to promoting today's engravers. A true 'transmitter' of techniques, he extends his artistic commitment into the digital space by animating a large community on social media. Through the group
‘Let’s Talk Engraving’, he manages and energises exchanges between artists and enthusiasts, making digital a modern visibility lever for this ancient art.
His work is regularly exhibited in Belgium and abroad, notably at the Taylor Foundation (Paris) and during international biennials.
